Our continuing story

A long history of bringing family together

The original Livesay Historical Society enjoyed a long and meaningful history of national reunions, newsletters, genealogical research, and sharing information about Livesay family heritage.

Unfortunately, as the Society’s leaders grew older, its work became increasingly difficult to continue. James, who maintained the Society’s website at LHSociety.org, passed away, and the organization’s leadership officially dissolved its 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in 2012.

“As Scripture speaks of bringing beauty from ashes, we are restoring what was lost.”

In 2026, the Livesay Historical Association was established. The Association is chartered and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, doing business as the Livesay Historical Society.

We have not taken leadership away from the former organization.

We have simply restored what was lost.
